World Science Festival Brisbane

Every year, the World Science Festival Brisbane (WSFB), paints Brisbane red. It brings science out of the lab and puts it in the streets, parks and museums of Brisbane and regional Queensland.

Queensland Museum Network (QMN), holds the exclusive license to host the Festival Asia Pacific - this is the only global extension for the initiative. WSFB has attracted over 830,000 visitors since its inception in 2016.

WSFB strengthens Queensland Museum's leadership position in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education and engagement.

QMN has the opportunity to engage with audiences outside of traditional education and promote a whole-of-life "entanglement” with STEM. This is in line of QMN's mission to create authentic and compelling stories and experiences that inspire, enrich, and empower. Under the World Science Festival Queensland (WSFQ) banner, the festival is distributed throughout Queensland.
