The First Ghanaian Forum on Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship Building Capacity and Collaborative Connectivity for Young Entrepreneurs

Economic development across the West Africa Sub Region can be realized by increased participation of youth in careers of innovation and entrepreneurship. However, currently lacking are both technological and innovative business skill-sets that can empower the emerging youth cohort. This proposed event addresses the region-wide issue by providing young entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs-to-be with a 3-day Workshop on Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship in June 4,5 and 6, 2022 in Accra International Conference Center Ghana. The Youth Entrepreneurs Workshop will include forums with leading entrepreneurs, start-up exhibitions and industry visits. A core tenant of the youth program is inclusive growth and collaborative connectivity. Driven by this, the forum and exhibitions will enable young West African entrepreneurs to acquire and exchange knowledge, business insights and hands-on technological skills to promote future cross-border startups and businesses. Workshop topics will include experiences and best practices, female entrepreneurship, introductions to relevant policies, emerging digital economy technologies, and analysis of the current Regional business market and opportunities. Providing opportunities for close dialogue with executive teams from successful startups, participants will also visit local innovation centers/teams as well as technology and creative parks. Further, a multi-lingual website will be built and maintained hosting related information can be regularly updated. This project aspires to strengthen West African youth regional connectivity and empower strong and inclusive growth.
